Backstage pass: On tour with Clocks

GIG DIARY: Glasgow and NutsTV

Hello again,

This blog comes to you from somewhere along the M6 on our way to Manchester, from Glasgow.

We were fairly nervous before the Brighton show, as we had management and label there to check up on us. To distract ourselves we went down to the pier and played some arcade games. Big Buck Hunter Pro being a particular favourite for its comedy value. This was only the second night using keys but luckily the song seemed to go down well. As we started the song and the lights went down, people raised their illuminated phones and glowsticks and swayed. It was a great moment for us, one that we'd never experienced before, or expected!

After Brighton we had a day off which we spent filing for Nuts TV. It was such a relaxed place, as you might expect. We went in to be told, 'here's the bar, help yourself to anything you like' so of course we did. After a short interview we had a slightly unconventional interview/game where we were asked to identify three different lagers, cheeses and two differently priced wines. All because of our rider specifications. I'm pleased to say that our senses of taste and smell did not let us down and we correctly identified everything! Next was a live performance then finishing off the bar.

That night we travelled up to Newcastle. Waking up right outside the venue was brilliant, out of bed and into the venue to shower. Unfortunately we had a bit of trouble with the shower, weak water pressure and fluctuating temperatures to not make for happy washing! The gig went really well though, the crowd were up for it and when everyone was jumping together it made for great viewing from the stage. We finished the night off with a tasty curry from just around the corner.
Tonight's show was yet another corker. Again the crowd really got in to it and started clapping along and jumping. From our point of view it's amazing to see so many arms in the air at one time! After the set we headed back to the dressing room via a route that unfortunately took us through the girls toilets, which caused us to get a few strange looks from the queuing ladies. We quickly explained and all was good.

Well that's you guys up to date so far, check back soon for the next one =)
